
Sifu Matsuo began his lifelong study of martial arts at a young age when he was introduced to the principles of Kung Fu by his grandfather and father. During his high school years, he began studying Daito Ryu Aikijujitsu, Shorinjin Ryu Ninjitsu and Baguazhang (Eight Diagram Palm).
In 1989, Sifu Matsuo began an intense practical study of Taoist and Buddhist shamanistic, alchemical and medical Qi Gong practices under Hidetoshi Mitsuoka and Wu Xiao Shr.In 2001, he obtained a degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine. He currently has a licensed acupuncture and medical Qi Gong practice in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He also is the Lineage holder of the Dragon Gate Sanctuary of Honolulu, Hawaii, a closed-door school for internal martial arts and healing arts located at a Buddhist temple. To the select few who are admitted into the Dragon Gate Sanctuary, Sifu Matsuo teaches Taoist martial arts, Qi Gong, and Taoist and Tibetan medicine.
He also oversees several branch schools in California and The Big Island of Hawaii. At seminars held regularly in Arizona and The Big Island of Hawaii, Sifu Matsuo shares the knowledge he has accumulated throughout the years by bridging the gaps between arts, lineages and traditions and weaving spiritual growth, evolution, healing and martial arts.
