Shihan Pete Pukish, founder of Satori International, has been training in the martial arts since 1977 and since 1986 has dedicated himself as a full time Instructor. Over the course of the last 30 years of training and teaching, he has recognized the need for a martial arts system that is effective both internally and externally, serving the practitioner with the health and energetic benefits of training while also satisfying the need for combat effectiveness. Combat effectiveness means that the art thrives at every range and distance of combat, with or with out any type of weapon(s). The art and the training must be backed and supported by the founding principles found in all legitimate arts.
In 2001, Pete Pukish founded Satori International as a way for martial artists from all systems to supplement and enhance their training experience. With a background in the traditional arts of Tae Kwon Do, Karate Do, Jiu Jitsu and Kuntao, and a very impressive list of Instructors from different arts, Pukish has dedicated himself to providing all martial artists with principle centered information that greatly improves not only the training experience, but the effectiveness of any practitioner that trains in the Satori system.
Pete Pukish is personally and professionally associated with many different martial arts organizations and a variety of Instructors from various Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian and Indonesian martial arts systems and styles. Throughout the years, he has been recognized by many of these individuals and organizations for his dedication and contribution as both a practitioner and as an Instructor of the arts. In his words, "I am honored to have the opportunity to fulfill the wish of my Instructors and esteemed colleagues in presenting information that will greatly enhance so many martial arts enthusiasts approach to training."
